Howdy, everyone. I hope everyone had an excellent first month of the year. We've had a pretty good amount of progress since the last update, and I just wanted to share what we've accomplished in the last month.

Progress Update

Getting right into it, we're still on track with the timeline I posted in the 2022 wrap-up earlier in the month. This means a March or April release is still likely (I would say April is more likely than March).

Building the Buildings!

We've been working on getting the various buildings around the airfield modeled, textured, and placed for the scenery. We recently added a bunch of new buildings, and here are a couple of screenshots we wanted to share:

I tend to post many screenshots on discord, so check out some of them there.

Now That's What I Call Concrete!

In addition, I'm excited to share some of the more detailed work we've been doing on the scenery. One of the things I find stands out with the ground at KHOU is the many discolorations of the concrete, so we've been adjusting the ground polygon to emulate this accurately.

This is very much a work in progress. Not final by any means.

Beep Beep!

We've also been working on custom clutter and GSE to bring the scenery to life. These static vehicles will be placed around the terminal and airfield based on satellite imagery to make the scenery as true to life as possible.

A very lovely render of a custom fire truck made for the scenery.

What's Next?

We are preparing to complete the last batch of buildings and start texturing the terminal. Like always, I'll post another developer update and talk a bit more about our plans for release and distribution after that is done.

A general overview of the scenery and how it's progressing. The green and yellow pins are currently in progress. The blue pins are planned for the final batch.

In the meantime, I do want to start writing more scenery tutorials. If you have a specific topic you want me to cover; please reach out on the discord with your suggestion.

Stay safe, and I'll see you in the following developer update.
